Coming from Orlando, FL Mike Adkins is a native Floridian who has been singing, writing lyrics, songs and poems since his youth.
Songwriting has been a passion of his since hearing early rock influences along with 90's music, classic, metal, folk, country and blues.
The artist from the lightning capitol of the world draws his inspiration from his environment and delivers natural, thought flowering, perceptive lyrics through a griddled rasp that goes from subdued to exulcerated in a moment.
Mixed with an acoustic style that is at its best both melodically hard, and a soft driving folk rhythm.
The intentions of Mike Adkins as an artist is to write, record and perform in the guise of making a connection with people who feel an emotional or intellectual interpretation to the music and to act in comradery with fellow artists in all genres to engage in altruistic endeavors such as live fundraising and charity events to aid and further development in community issues such as homelessness, auto immune disorders, mental health, and climate challenges.
As a solo artist Mike has released two records the latest of which was recorded in Florida and Ohio with his Biological father whom he had just met in life. The album Melody Motel is what came from those recordings.
Since then, he has been collaborating with guitarist Kevin Malcom have formed a duo Native Trees and are writing new material to be recorded and released.
He says he is more than elated to be a contributing artist for the great work RadioCave is doing for communities.
